What is the account recovery key and what can I do if I lose this?

The recovery key ensures that you can recover all of your data should you forget your password, so it is vitally important that you keep a copy of what this is when you are running TeamSpeak V5 for the first time. Data includes your identities, or bookmarks to name a couple of examples.

The below screenshot shows when this will appear during the initial setup process:



So please remember to keep a copy of this safe somewhere, just in case you forget your password, or perhaps you've had to reformat your device, or have switched to a new device altogether. Without it, you will not be able to access your identities, bookmarks and other data will lose your permissions as well.

I still have access to my account, however I have forgotten what my recovery key is. Is there a way to generate a new one?



You can request a new one via: -> "Account" -> Above your badge collection, you should see "New Recovery Key". Click on this, it will ask for your password for confirmation and then you should receive a new recovery key to keep safe.
